It’s been a long time since I have been on here, and that might partially due to getting back into the swing of college, and it is my last semester of undergrad. I also have my nose stuck in a book lately. I have already finished five books this year, and halfway through my sixth (you can catch up with me on GoodReads, and I would love to follow you too).
I have found my passion for reading again and it only took 3-½ years to realize that my university’s library has fiction paperback books you can check out, so I am currently in book heaven right now.
It’s four weeks into the new year and I am finally sitting down to see what I really want to accomplish this year. I want this year to be great, and I want it to mean something. Not that in years pasts I haven’t accomplish my goals and do what needs to be done but I want a little motivation to skyrocket my goals to accomplish them today instead of in a month or two or once I graduate.
I keep finding myself saying well as soon as I graduate college I can do this … or I will do this or that. Nothing is stopping me from accomplishing those right now and today. I want to stop putting off what I can do today for tomorrow or a month from now.
One of the most relaxing weeks ever spent in paradise let me tell you, talking about white sandy beaches, frozen drinks, lots of sun and little worries.
Celebrating the new year in style the Mexico way by staying at an All-Inclusive resort on the coast of Playa Del Carmen, just 45 minutes from the Cancun airport. Spending 7 nights and 8 days in the warm weather. Is the total definition of paradise, besides the worry of having my backpack stolen from the coati. The Grand Riviera Princess was the way to go and totally recommend it to anyone. I have traveled to Mexico once before and you can check out that travel recap heretravel recap here.
As 2018 came to an end, it’s exciting to think about what is ahead of me but how much I have accomplished over the year. With traveling over the holiday I am finally able to sit down and reflect over the entire year.
My number one thing this year was to travel, and I can honestly say while I did do a little exploring this year it was not near how much traveling I have done in the past. I feel like traveling will always be a goal along with learning because I never want to stop learning or exploring.
I also have completed quit of few of my goals this year when it came to my list of 101, and I currently have 14 done and have some that will soon be completed. I did a recap of one year deep of some of my accomplishments.
I feel in love with readings in 2017 and was really hoping that would fall into 2018, reading and blogging hit the back burner this year and it wasn’t my best, but as I said before with traveling I still have that passion for traveling, reading and blogging it just wasn’t my year for sitting down to accomplish what I wanted.
What I did do better this year though was stepping up my journaling game, and have really taken to heart and action writing things down and journaling in my bullet journal. It’s so relaxing and makes me feel so accomplished to mark off things I have achieved over the course of a day, week or month even year.
I have so much to look forward too in 2019 with endless bucket list items I plan to accomplish there is still a ton of my 101 in 1001 that I am more than thrilled to tackle.
In 2019 I am excited too …
Graduate from College
Purchase my First Car
Travel out of the Country
Start my First Big Kid Job
Tackle my First Half – Marathon
Do Lots More Traveling
Take Lots More Photographs
New Branding for the Blog
Drink lots of Iced Coffee
Thanks for always sticking around, here is to another great year of adventure and learning.
Merry Christmas everyone, I hope everyone is enjoying a relaxing Christmas with their family or loved ones. I know I have seriously been enjoying the long weekend with my family and currently am sipping a peppermint mocha out of my new mug set with my sissy and just taking in all the Christmas joy.
I am so lucky to be a part of such an amazing blogger community, and I was able to take part in the annual blogger Secret Santa for the second year. You can check out what I got last year here. Along with everyone else who participated this year! Thanks so much Abigail from Living the Gray Life for putting this on again.
This year my Secret Santa was Kat, from Yours Truly, Katrina. She is seriously adorable, and picked me out the perfect stay at home package! That included two face masks perfect for the dry winter weather here in Michigan. Along with these gorgeous mug set, snowflake marshmallows, the best smelling holiday candle, and this adorable hot chocolate topper I enjoyed this morning.
Thanks so much, Kat I truly appreciate everything, and was such a surprise! Seriously made my Christmas morning a little tastier and relaxing!
You can check out Kat on Blog | Instagram | Twitter | Pinterest | YouTube
I apologize again for the missing days of blogmas, the end of finals hit me a little longer than I was expecting, including getting sick and waking up the other day with pinkeye. The stress of finals seriously hit me at the end, and it’s really nice to seriously sit down and relax without my mind racing about the next assignment or project, a paper that’s due or making sure I didn’t forget about turning something in. Which I just realized this morning I never emailed my professor back (oops).
A stat down yesterday on a Sunday afternoon on the first weekend of the break, and I wanted to do a little bucket list of things I want to accomplish the next four week to make sure that I have the most successful break.
- Read 5-6 More Books
- Send out Christmas Cards
- Accomplish 2-3 items on my 101 to 1001 bucket list
- Go to Hot Yoga
- Learn how to Frost Sugar Cookies
- Make A Berry Cobbler
- Go to Canada
- Bake Christmas Cookies
- Apply to Grad School
- Go on Vacation
- Apply for Jobs
- Go Sledding
- Read more blog posts
- Go to the Movies
- Go Ice Skating Downtown
Do you have any big plans for break? I know I plan on doing a little work, catching up on what I want to do post graduation in May along with a little or a lot of relaxation because it’s much needed. Hope everyone is having a good Monday morning if you finished finals congrats, and if you aren’t done yet keep up the hard work!
I love stocking stuffer season, because I love shopping for those cute little things that someone might like, and Target always has the most adorable stocking stuffers especially in their dollar section. You can never go wrong with fun festive socks and chocolate or fun hot chocolate and coffee.
My favorite things about opening stocking as a kid was our family tradition was that you could open them as soon as we wake up on Christmas day, we didn’t have to wait for my parents or my other siblings. And I always remember getting a chocolate Santa but also something extremely practical like shampoo, or one time I got gum shaped like coal.
My stockings at my grandparents were always a little different and we always get a little gift card a pair of cozy fuzzy socks that everyone wears as soon as they open it and something fun and nothing to do with being practical.
As you all know I have been obsessed with Target this season, and to think I haven’t even been into a store yet this month. Then again who doesn’t love Target? Don’t worry the first thing on my to-do list when I get home is to hit up the nearest Target, and I can’t wait for this weekend.
Holiday Scrunchies // Cozy Crew Socks // Essie Trio Kit // Peppermint Herbal Tea // Crunch Chocolate Jingle Bells // Hot Cocoa Kit // Don’t Give a Sip Mug // The Grinch Whoville Celebration // Cozy Dog Socks // Candy Filled Candy Cane
What are your favorite stocking stuffer gifts to give or receive? Do you have any stocking traditions in your family also?
It’s that time of year you guessed it gift guide season, oh and its finals week (like you needed to remind me, my to-do list grows by the minute). I wanted to kick off my gift guide season by doing one for that fitness guru in your life. I am super motivated by Abigail from Living the Gray Life’s 12 days of Fitmas circuit workout, were you progressively add on, and I can’t wait to start it today.
This is a great motivator to working out during the holidays even if it’s a few bodyweight exercises that you do at home, anything helps when it comes to being able to keep another holiday dessert. So as a result, I put together a few must have ideas that any fitness guru would love to have under their tree. I know I personally would love a pair of Airpods or the yoga mat.
Apple Airpods // Nike Free TR8 // Pink Topaz S’well Bottle // Reversible 5mm Mat // Rebecca Minkoff Tote // Invisibobble // Zella Workout Tank
Happy Monday, and welcome to the longest week of the year for college students, where lots of coffee will be consumed minimal sleep will happen, lack of showering and basic hygiene get thrown out the window because its finals week. I wanted to kick off finals week with a cozy roundup of some of the cutest holiday inspired pajamas out right now.
Nothing beats stripped out of your jeans into a cozy pair of flannel PJ pants and binge-watching Netflix with a hot chocolate and Christmas cookies on the couch. I am seriously in love with Aerie’s pajama collection this year, it’s super festive along with being really warm and cozy. I know as my treat for passing finals I want a pair of either the flannel pants or the cozy printed leggings.
Striped Jumpsuit // Flannel Polar Bear Pants // Plaid Joggers // Waffle Pajama Leggings // Reindeer Slippers
Candy Cane Pajama Set // Bootie Slippers // Flannel Pajama Set
Flannel Penguins Wearing Sweaters Pants // Rugby Striped Union Suit // Elf Pajama Suit // Polar Bear Pants
Good luck to all my college babes during finals this week, we got this! Just keep killing the game. Happy Monday!
Sorry for the lack of blogmas posts the last two days, let’s just say that pre-finals week (dead week) really killed me last week with the workout, along with having some pretty bad wifi. Have no fear I am back for the rest of the December blogmas season and look forward to continuing to countdown the days to Christmas.
Happy Sunday, I know I am in a full out study grind for finals and one of my favorite ways to study is listening to very classical music so I thought I would share some of my favorite playlists I love to listen to all December and this upcoming week.
Loving this soothing Spotify Jazz Christmas music for studying, but also just thinking and journaling this December.
I am also a huge Country Christmas fan if you couldn’t have guessed, give me all of Hunter Hayes, Brad Paisley, and Brett Eldredge, please.
You can’t forget those jams you blare while driving or just having one of those sing in the shower days as you forget that you have two papers to write by the end of the week. Umm, All I Want For Christmas is You, the best Christmas Jams
I also sometimes can’t stop laughing or smiling after listening to Straight No Chaser’s song The Christmas Can-Can.
I just wanted to share a few of my favorite playlists but of course, there are so many to choose from and I love all Christmas equally, but if you might be looking for something different. Hope everyone has a relaxing and study filled Sunday, and hopefully, you sipping something warm like a peppermint mocha to get you through this finals season.
