June Mood Board

I am trying to make my board as realistic as possible, as much as I would like to write about dreamy island vacations and months on the road, my summer isn’t going to be looking like that. More like long drives to the office and maybe a Dunkin Donuts iced coffee in hand every so often. Of course, there will belong of running, sweating, business professional clothing, and the casual adventure of taking the top off my Jeep. But I have no extravagant week-long trips to Hawaii or anywhere exotic to speak of unless you’re talking about my backyard on the weekend.

I was inspired to write this post after College with Caitlyn’s post where she broke down how she wanted to start her summer. It’s really inspired me to think positively and to set the mood for the next couple weeks to follow as I transition into my working girl #GirlBoss schedule. I have a couple of overall goals I want to accomplish this month, that will then set me up for a better summer.

June - Mood Board

I also have been loving this clean, white look and just been loving this crisp white look for spring with a transition into summer with brightly colored flowers and mason jars, and I am slowly started to transition my feed into a summer feed.

My biggest thing that I already knew was going to be on my board is iced coffees from Dunkin (lovin the $1.50 special after 12 pm). When I really want to treat myself I have been enjoying the coconut milk mocha macchiato at Starbucks, and it doesn’t help that there is one walking distance from my summer internship. The good news is I do have a gift card so it’s not hurting my bank account just yet.

I also want to incorporate more photography and expand my brand this summer. I just want to learn how to shoot more portraits and have been really inspired lately by Gabby and Hannah’s blog The Swirl. I want to learn this summer so that once I graduate I would love to be able to jump in and shoot a couple clients next summer. Just slowly sticking my toe into the pool of photography. I have also been attending a lot more webinars, and learning as much as I can.

Have you guys have ever created a mood board, and if so what’s your favorite thing on it. And if your a blogger who was posted one recently please share the link below because I would love to read it. Hope everyone is having a great week.

Update on 101 in 1001

I can’t believe it’s already been almost 12 months since I started my list last summer, a list of goals I set for myself that would last exactly 1001 days or 2-¾ years. I am kind of impressed with myself on what I have accomplished so far and look forward to adding more goals to my list in the upcoming months and accomplish this summer. Some are long-term goals that will exactly knock off in the next year or two.

So far what I have accomplished is …

6. Vacation on an Island – The island of Hawai’i or the Big Island was wonderful and worth every penny spent along with every minute and hour on that flight. I was able to witness some amazing views, and adventure and do some pretty cool thing. How many other people have hiked to an active volcano?

18. Have My First Legal Drink – Back in January I turned 21, and it wasn’t until the following weekend I ordered my first legal drink at dinner. I can finally say that I have ordered a beer with dinner and it was awesome.

19. Land An Amazing Internship – I am so thankful for the amazing opportunity I have landed within a Chamber of Commerce. I am expanding my skill range when it comes to running a business including running the books to a not-for-profit organization, and running several charity events this summer.

25. Meet A Fellow Blogger – This might have to be one of the coolest experience so far in my life because I am just amazed, but I was able to connect through blogger and meet up with Sarah from Elle S’appelle Sarah and become friends with a blogger who lives near me at home. I was even fortunate enough to shoot a few blog photos of her.

59. 200 Posts – This has been a huge accomplishment for me to reach this, I have been blogging for two years and it’s been an up and down struggle, from handling school, blogging, and workings. I am so proud of myself for writing 200 posts and I am looking forward to what’s next.

66. & 67. Upgrading my Equipment – I finally upgraded my baby after using her for five years it was time for an upgrade if I wanted to take myself seriously in the field I need to upgrade, and while my budget really wasn’t on par with a full-frame body camera, I went with a 70D high-resolution crop-sensor body, which was a major upgrade from my Canon Rebel. I was also fortunate enough to get a new fancy lens for Christmas after combining all my Christmas money and I splurged on a wide angle 10-22mm lens. And have been looking for the perfect shot to try it out. If anyone has any tip of any good photos they have taken with this type of lens please don’t be afraid to link they below.

80. Have a Movie Marathon – I got the opportunity this year to live in an apartment with my best friends this year. And the best part of living with my best friends is when we have free time we love to bond over Disney movies, and one night we watched like four Disney movies and snacks.

84. Go a Week Without Using Heat on My Hair – While I was in Hawaii I also challenged myself to go natural for a week with no heat in my hair, and I honestly have been living by this my entire junior year of college.

85. Don’t Drink Coffee for a Week – I also challenged myself to no coffee for a week, which I did accept the challenge for 10 days and as soon it was other I was back on the coffee grind. I do have to admit my coffee addiction was strong and the first couple days were really rough. I am so used to checking my emails while enjoying a cup of coffee.

You can view everything else on my 1001 journey to accomplishing 101 tasks, to see what else I plan to accomplish, I also update it regularly every time a goal or task is completed. I have so many plans for this summer like stated on the bucket list this summer that I want to accomplish that are quite a few goals on my 101 list. I would love to go berry picking with my friends, do lots of hot yoga, explore some new restraints, and maybe a vacation or two. Looking forward to amazing summer of learning, exploring, adventures and accomplishments. If you also have a list of 101 goals, please link your blog post in the comments I would love to check it out.

Free Tools to Writing Better Blog Posts

I have been blogging for a little over for two years now, and with every post and every journey I have learned something new on this journey so far. I have learned from mistakes and from research and from reading from other bloggers. So today I wanted to share some of my tips and tricks to creating a great blog, what tools I use on a daily basis and what blog has been the most helpful for me when creating My Sprinkle of Prep.

Grammary – The life-saving app and program and I are not sure what I was doing it. I am a blogger and a college student and I love to type and write but honestly, I am not great at grammar, my sentences have a tendency to run on and I don’t have the best word choice. Even with a free membership, I saw grammar mistakes dramatically decrease along with mistakes in emails, papers and blog posts. Don’t believe me maybe read a couple of my old post at how terrible my grammar is. I love to write but sometimes I am not great at putting words together.

Pinterest – Bringing together blogger, ideas, concepts and just puts everything together. I love to share content on here but it’s great to find inspiration, new bloggers, and resources for a future post, a recipe I want to try or vacation I am planning next.

Canva – My go too for creating awesome cover photo graphics, most of the functions are free if not there is a small charge for downloading each one. Most of mine that I have done have been free including creating my header and logo for my blog here. I would totally recommend this to any start of blogger.

Free Stock Photos – This has honestly been great for when I don’t have a cover photo for my blog post, there are endless possibilities to choose from and all of them are free to download, so no worrying about copyrights or any of that. Photographers do appreciate you sharing their images and would recommend sharing a click back to possibly their website, social media or accounts.

Blogging 4 Keeps – This has been my go-to when it comes to looking for advice or looking for help on a project or a post. Even topics I never thought I needed help on they were writing articles on. Two huge bloggers came together to open a new blog to talk about blogging and the journey behind it. They haven’t posted this year yet but there are some awesome articles on there that really changed blogging for me.

My Sprinkle of Prep headers (9)

These are just a couple of my favorite resources I use on almost a daily basis to write a post if you have any other sites you use that you would love to share, don’t be afraid to leave a comment below.

Spreading Sprinkles & Sparkles,

Two Year Blogiversary

It’s been two whole years since I started this online journey on my little corner of the internet that has slowly started to expand day by day, word by word I have touched someone new and shared a new moment, a new discovery, a new passion and a new love for life and love and passion for the world around me.

It’s been a crazy roller coaster journey that I can sum blogging in as the ups and downs of success and failure and be figuring out what works best for me. One my one year anniversary I put together a list of goals for myself that I wanted to accomplish.

My Goals After Blogging for one year:

  • One Recipe
  • More Photographs, Pictures & Videography
  • More YouTube Videos
  • Express and Share Myself more
  • Post More Consistently

Out of all my goals, I feel like I have accomplished quite a bit of it, I really tried to experiment this past year, putting more heart, soul and more of my work into the blog. I had included more of my own images, and photography. I have shared more personal moments of my life with everyone here on the blog, I have shared a few DIYs during December included two recipes. I made myself a list of goals for the next 2-½ years which is almost coming down to 2 years left. I included more travel posts and more adventurous in the last year. I veer away my comfort zone, I look more risks posted more personal and wrote more posts about my ideas and thoughts.

On my two year highlight I wanna share some of my top five posts I have written so far, including some of my favorites to write:

  • Preppy Instagrams to Follow – This is one of my most popular posts to date, and it’s a collection of some of my favorite preppy Instagrams that I used to look up too. The post is a little old and was written when I first started blogging, any of the Instagramers featured don’t style as preppy anymore.
  • Lumineer Concert Attire – One of my favorite posts to write because I put together the cutest little outfit for the concert I was able to go too, while my outfit was not the same as I shared it was very similar. I had so much fun at that concert, it was seriously a highlight of my spring college semester.
  • 5 Tips for Taking Better Blog Photos – I was able to share my knowledge and tips with photography and photographs and was able to help a few other people out. I am so happy this post does well because photography is a huge passion of mine and I am so happy to share it with the world.
  • 101 in 1001 – the Ultimate list for any blogger, I wish I had run into this trend earlier because I would have started a list back in the beginning, I made my first list back in the spring and I seriously love and live by it. It’s a great motivator and keeps you on track for scoring those goals in life and trying new things and stepping out of your comfort zone.

Thanks so much for being here for me and reading along, if you are new or have been here since the beginning it all means the world me and thanks so much everyone for all their support.

12 Things | January

Processed with VSCO with a6 presetProcessed with VSCO with a6 preset

Happy Tuesday, I can’t believe another month has almost already passed us. As I cherish the last full week of January I love to look back at 12 of my biggest highlights of the month, products that stuck out to me, my favorite foods I have been eating and moments I want to share. If you haven’t read any of my past posts you can check out October, November, and December.

  1. Weird enough I have been obsessed with Weeds on Netflix, this wouldn’t usually be my cup of tea but for some reason, I started watching it and now I can’t stop. Within in two week I have already made it to season three. I have watched an episode or two right before bed which I am not sure how great of a habit that is but oh well, I need a little stress reliever in my life right now.
  2. My SmartWool socks are my favorite things in the world right now, the weather here in Pittsburgh has been so snowy and cold out and I have been wearing these bad boys almost every other day to class. I love how warm they keep my feet and I have been loving them with my L.L. Bean boots and Hunters. I picked these up on super sale during the REI member garage sale.
  3. Reaching my Goals for the month, ever since the new year, I have really fallen back into making goals and accomplishing them, including blogging and staying ahead this semester on my homework and assignments. So far so good other than the week-long break I took off from blogging last week.
  4. With having three weeks off for Winter break and it leading into January, I didn’t end up finishing this book until I got back to school during syllabus week but I really enjoyed reading Secrets by Freya North. It’s a British novel that at first was a little hard to get into and I had trouble starting it but once I got into it I couldn’t put the book down. I have been loving leisure reading and I am kind of disappointed I won’t be able to do much now that I am back in school with how much I already have on my plate. Looking forward to accomplishing my reading goal this year of 20 books. If you want to follow along on my reading journey add me on GoodReads, would love to see what you are currently reading also and be friends.
  5. New Camera who dis, for Christmas I got a new Canon. The upgrade wasn’t super fancy just finally upgrading my Rebel T4i to a 70D crop that has a ton more features and is more precise. I didn’t even go to a full-frame resolution camera but the switch was amazing. I have absolutely loved shooting on it so far. Just wish I was able to shoot a little more on it. I had the pleasure of being able to shoot a couple outfit posts back in December for Sarah and look forward to working with more friends and blogger in the future, including graduation photos and blog photos this spring.
  6. Achieving my January Goals, the month isn’t even over yet and I have surpassed them with 8 days left. One of my main blogging goals for the month was to increase monthly views and I have already passed the number views I was reaching for. It feels so good to have your hard work finally payoff.
  7. It’s my birthday month! I guess I wanted to include this because this year I will be celebrating a bigger birthday than most. I am not a huge birthday person and hate bringing extra attention to myself but I felt that this year was a little extra special since I will be turning 21, and I can officially feel like I am an adult … hopefully.
  8. The power of a family meal and friends, my apartment recently since coming back to school has been bonding together more and spending time with each other and I love it. I love coming home from classes and having dinner together once a week and watching movies in our living room, or playing board games together. Last semester our schedules were really crazy between jobs, homework, and classes so we never really saw each other. I know that eventually, it will get that crazy again but for now, I really love spending time with them.
  9. Can we just take a small moment to talk about football for a hot second? I have been really into staying in tune with the playoffs this year and maybe it’s because I am finally living in a city whose team actually makes it to the playoffs, (sorry Detroit). I have seriously enjoyed watching the playoff games with my roommates and look forward to cheering on the Eagles and the Patriots on in the Superbowl. I can’t wait to have a little apartment Superbowl party and make some different dips and watch the commercials and bond.
  10. I am currently living on coffee and loving every single second of it, it’s those post-Christmas winter/spring days where I just enjoy sitting by the window either reading or just blogging and enjoying a warm or iced cup of coffee. I mean of course I enjoy it all year long but I like taking a moment to watch the snow melt and just feel relaxed makes me happy. Taking a couple extra moments to take in the best part of the day is never a bad thing.
  11. Can spring finally get here because I am ready to start wearing sunglasses again, rolling down the windows and breath in that fresh smell of spring? I also am excited to feel the sun again and listen to country music as I stomp through the puddles. January in Pittsburgh has been pretty weird in that we have had several days of weather warming up to the high 60s resulting in a couple days later getting no warmer than 10 degrees. I love winter but I am totally ready for spring.
  12. My last thing to recap for the month of January is the time to slow down and think, recap, and take in a breath. With a week off, and then syllabus week I haven’t really fallen into the heat of the semester year, I will this upcoming week and next but for now, I love to take the time to still have the chance to breathe before I am drowning in assignments and summer internship interviews.

I hope you guys enjoyed my twelve things for the month, I really like putting these together because I have a chance to reflect, and appreciate what I have and how good the month has been so far. I also love to look back and reread my highlights and favorites. If you have any suggestions on upcoming Valentine’s Day content, I would love to hear it.

Spreading Sprinkles & Sparkles,

My 2018 New Years Goals

My Sprinkle of Prep headers

The new year is here, and as I reflected on the last 12 months of 2017, I can’t help but set goals for the future. I am super motivated to put a lot of work and power into some of my passions this year including this blog and my photography, and I am ready to set myself up for success.

Personal / Life Goals:

  1. Travel – One of my biggest goals is to do as much if not more traveling then I did in 2017, I went on several trips and explored the world as I did so. My goal for 2018 is to explore more of what the United States has to offer, I want to visit cities, towns, and states I have never been too. I also want to go on at least one international trip even if it’s to the great Canadian Nation to the north of me for the weekend.
  2. 101 in 1001 – in just a few short months I was able to accomplish 9 things off my list of 101 things I plan to accomplish in 2-½ years. My goal for 2018 is to at least be able to accomplish 30 more things off that list this year. I know there are at least a few that are headed towards my direction real soon that I can’t wait to accomplish.
  3. Reading – As I grow older, I find my love for reading grows with it just like my love for traveling. I want 2018 to be the year of growth, new experiences and reading. I want to set a higher goal for myself on GoodReads and hold myself accountable. Last year I had a goal of 10 books, this year I have a goal of at least 20 books.
  4. Fitness – I want to grow and I want to gain my strength back, in high school I used to lift almost daily and I loved it, also went to yoga 3 times a week and worked out constantly. The last couple years I have fallen out of that love, and this year I want to throw myself back into it. I want to go to a new fitness class, I want to take a cycling class, and go to yoga again.
  5. Journaling – This past year has been a year of trial and error, as I added more blogging into my life and switched over to a bullet journal. I did overall a lot less writing in a journal since I switched over, and everything else was compensated on my blog. I would love to journal even just a few words every day and spend at least 20 minutes a day to just reflect and write down how I am feeling. I would love to cross off my journaling for 3 months straight goal.

Blogging Goals:

  1. Reach a daily audience of 500 views per day – I am currently reaching around 50 views per day and some days I can reach up to around 100 to 200, but the views are not consistent. I am looking forward to gaining more consistently and hopefully, in return I would love to grow my audience and views.
  2. Purchase my Own Domain go from Transferring from .com to .org – I will be going on my 2-year blogiversary in February and I want to do something big. After blogging for two years pretty consistently I want to take my blog to the next level and invest a little more time and money into something I love.
  3. Be More Present on My Social Media – My biggest goal is to be more present in my social media, which includes my Pinterest, Instagram, and Twitter. I want to interact and post more, including posting photos and doing on Instagram stories and even doing Instagram live.
  4. Be More Organized – My plan for the new year is to have posts be more organized and we more prepared, I don’t want to be writing posts that go live that day. Using my bullet journal and my google doc calendar to keep my posts in order and scheduled ahead of time. The more organized I can be this year, and smoother things will flow.

This is the year of trial and error and change and I can feel it coming. It’s going to be a little difficult of a year but I am excited to take 2018 by the reins and steer it towards the direction I want. It’s time to take back control of my life after letting it slip away the past couple of years due to anxiety and fear. I think with the right mental mindset and the right tools in my back pocket I should be able to accomplish a lot this year and I am excited to do it all.

My Year in Review: 2017

Processed with VSCO with a6 preset

It’s been a crazy year of traveling, exploring, life lessons and learnings as I finished my sophomore year and started taking classes towards my major in my junior year. If you haven’t yet you can see my year in review for 2016.

To start off the year, and to celebrate the new year on January 1st my family boarded a plane and headed towards sunny Mexico for six days. An entire week in a paradise of being in the sun, cliff jumping, kayaking and lots of chips and homemade guacamole. I had so much fun spending quality time with my family before I headed back to school for the second semester of the school year.

I also celebrated my 20th birthday at the end of January, another year older.

In March I went to Washington D.C. over spring break after not visiting since my 8th-grade tour trip, and I had fallen back in love with the city. I got to see the Lincoln Memorial and several other monuments while eating some great food, you can see everything in my travel post.

April I went home for a weekend for Easter since going to school in January, and of course I came back and had to visit one of the best places in Detroit to get donuts.

In May I was lucky enough to go to a Pirates game with my Grandma and mom when they came to visit once the semester was over. I had so much fun cheering on my pirates and exploring the city.

June I watched my baby sister play her last softball game along with graduate from high school. I can’t believe how long it been since I was in high school, and that my sister officially graduated and was moving on to bigger and brighter things, like attending college in Kentucky.

A Lot of June was spending time working, exploring new restaurants in Detroit and watching my brother play baseball on the weekend.

In July I flew out to the Hawai’i and spend a week on the Big Island, spending my time between Kona and Hilo. I had such a blast exploring, and trying new food. I also got some breathtaking photos and videos and some memories that will last a lifetime, like having a turtle brushed against my leg while I was swimming. I also went hiking to see an active volcano and that was an awesome experience.

In August I wrapped up my summer by spending a lot of time with friends before I packed up my things again, and headed back to college. I spent a lot of long nights at American Eagle putting out their fall line, meeting new people and trying the Custard Hut for the first time. It’s one of the best ice cream sandwiches I have ever eaten.

September was full of friends, college, finance and football. Lots of college football, rainy days and tailgating. I found a new long for school and spending time with my new roommates. All five of us bonded instantaneously and soon I was wrapped up in family dinners, and movie nights and weekends with the girls.

October was school, school, and more school, my classes this semester were challenging but worth it, so most my time was spent studying. I did have a few fun fall activities, such as going Downtown and visiting a waterfall.

November was a time to be thankful, and I loved spending a week at home with family and friends. I had visited more friends in that one week then a did all summer, and for some reason, my parents were really proud of me.

Processed with VSCO with a6 preset

December I finished finals and ended my fall semester with a 3.0, while it was not as high as I was hoping I will take the win when I get one. I have enjoyed working, spending time with my parents, going to basketball games, supporting my brother and playing board games.

Processed with VSCO with a6 presetProcessed with VSCO with a6 presetProcessed with VSCO with a6 preset

I seriously am looking forward to the new year, I ended on 2017 on a great note and look forward to keeping the cycle going into the new year. I have such a positive attitude and outlook on the year ahead and can’t wait to see what it holds.

12 Things | December

Processed with VSCO with a6 presetProcessed with VSCO with a6 presetProcessed with VSCO with a6 presetProcessed with VSCO with a6 presetProcessed with VSCO with a6 presetProcessed with VSCO with a6 preset

Happy December, I can’t believe another month has flown past us already and we are just rounding it off with a couple more days left. I am putting together so of my greatest highlights and the top 12 things that made my December one to remember. I have really enjoyed writing these and if you haven’t already check out my previous month’s round-ups of my favorite things.

  1. The Joy of Writing Christmas Cards & The Joy of Receiving Christmas Cards – For the first time I signed up for something new and joined a new group of blogger friends. I am so thankful for my new friend Lauren for putting together a blogger Christmas card exchange. I had a blast finding the cutest cards, and writing a little message or two to each blogger about having a happy holiday and a Merry Christmas. I had a blast, along with now receiving all the cards in the mail is even better. I have this excitement when the mail comes to see if I got a new card from a new friend.
  2. The Misery of Finals – This year finals hit be harder than it ever has before, and it didn’t help that I was fighting getting back from a cold. Long hours stuck at a desk memorizing information for 4 large exams that had a heavy weight on my final grade in the class. It was hard to manage and to power through. I am so glad that it is over now and I can finally breathe and relax on winter break.
  3. Procrastination at its Finest – Productivity wise this month hasn’t been the best and I wish I could blame it on the fact that I was sick for the first week or so of it but I know there is no excuse for the lack of effort in certain departments. As hard as I tried to stay ahead of the game this semester about right before Thanksgiving, I had caught up with me and once I got sick I then had to play catch up until I got to finals.
  4. Secret Santa – I also signed up for a blogger Secret Santa and I am so glad I did. I got to meet new bloggers and talk to other girls with similar blogs to me, and it’s so nice to talk to someone who understands where you’re coming from. If you want to see what I got inside my Secret Santa box check out my post that I posted on Christmas.
  5. Christmas Cookies – I love baking and spending time in the kitchen so of course I have to include Christmas cookies in the mix it’s a tradition, that almost everyone celebrates is having a last a dozen cookies or so lying around their house during the holidays. This hands down is my favorite cookie recipe I have been using for years, and everyone loves them. If you want to know some of my other favorites I have been making the last couple of years I pinned them all on Pinterest in this folder.
  6. Michigan White Christmas – I was so excited to go home for the holidays for the pure fact that I would have a glamourous snowy white covered Christmas, and while I did arrive at pills of snow everywhere I can’t seem to find any snow anymore. Here today and gone tomorrow. I am just praying for a white Christmas after all, and my wish came true on Christmas Eve a huge snow storm blew through Michigan leaving behind a giant white blanket of snow.
  7. Alexa is in the House – I don’t know how, and I don’t know why but my cousins had gifted us the gift of the Amazon Echo Dot; Alexa and she has been the life of the party and our living room at home. She turns on Christmas music, lets us know if we need to wear a jacket and tells really funny jokes. Alexa also can call to order you a pizza like how simple and easy as that. We don’t have a smart house so she can’t really turn on and off the lights, but my brother and I have gotten a kick out of asking Alexa some of the weirdest commands and questions.
  8. To The Theatre We Go – On Friday before Christmas my brother, Mom, and Grandma went downtown to the Fox Theatre and saw Elf live. I love musicals and was right on board when I found out they turned one of my favorite Christmas movies into a musical. They had some great songs, and choreography. I would totally recommend this show to anyone, even if you haven’t seen Elf yet.
  9. Ready, Aim, Shoot – Ever since Christmas I have had the photography bug and it might be because I have a new lens and camera body to play with. I have been asking everyone if they would be my model and after a couple hours of getting my new camera, my family has already gotten annoyed with me. I can’t wait for spring to roll around to shoot more graduating and upcoming senior pictures.
  10. MSU Basketball – Growing up with green in my blood and a green and white pom-pom in hand going to all the football, ice hockey and basketball games I was finally able to make a few games over the break with my parents both alumni of the school. It was really cool to be able to sit in the fourth row in the student section, and being so close to the court. Even though I am not a member of the school, I still follow along with the sports every once in a while.
  11. Blogmas – Another year has come and gone and another Blogmas of December has failed. If you have been staying and reading along with my blog you would know that I tried another attempt at blogmas this year. I was so determined to succeed, that I miserably failed the minute that finals hit, maybe the Christmas that I am officially graduated from school will I tackle this again.
  12. A Year in Review – My biggest thing I have done this month is honestly spent a little more time than usual reflecting on the year, and how much I have changed as a person and grown. Reflecting on the memories I have made, and new friends in my life, and adventures I went on. It’s amazing how much things can change in your life, in just a month or a year and where I was just last year with a totally different mindset and mentality. I am super excited to see what 2018 has in store with all the crazy adventures and memories.

Spreading Sprinkles & Sparkles,

What I Received For Christmas 2017

My Sprinkle of Prep headers

It’s been a crazy, family oriented long weekend. With spending Christmas with my grandparents and cousins on Saturday to spending time with my dad’s parents on Christmas on Monday, the entire weekend off from work was relaxing and chaotic, as I spent time with siblings, cousins, and grandparents.

On Saturday when we had Christmas with my cousins at my grandmas, I got an Amazon Gift Card from my two cousins and aunt and uncle in Chicago. I am super thankful because now I am pick something out that would be a great addition. Today will be a full day of online shopping and I already added this lens hood for my new lens and some new gear. Now that I live in the city of Pittsburgh it’s hard for me to not stay involved with the sports team, and for living in the city for three years now I have very minimal gear so I picked out this fleece lined hat which will be perfect during the playoff season.

Processed with VSCO with a6 preset

From my grandma, she didn’t know what to get me so I was thankful enough for the gift of cash. My grandpa wanted to do something creative and they rolled up and wrapped $20’s and individually wrapped them. I had so much fun on Saturday opening all the little boxes to find a new surprise. The money didn’t stay in my wallet long. On Sunday we were walking around the mall with my cousins, after seeing the new movie Jumanji, and between my dad and cousins, they talked me into buying a Le’Veon Bell Steelers jersey.

My biggest gift this Christmas, and actually the two biggest gifts I received that I have been thinking about purchasing for a long time is a new upgrade for my Canon. I have been shooting on my T4i for over 4 years now, and it was the time I needed a new body to shoot better photos. My parents had bought me a new Canon 70D for Christmas, and I couldn’t be more thankful.

My parents also got me a new hair dryer since I wasn’t able to bring mine home from school, and I have been showering before work, so it was a perfect gift.

My grandparents were inside the loop on knowing I was getting a new camera for Christmas and chipping in on giving me a new lens for Christmas. I had my eye on a wide angle lens for a long time, and I was in total surprise when I saw a 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 under the tree on Christmas day. It takes some great shots, and I can’t wait to edit them and show you guys. I also got a set of travel cosmetic bags that will be perfect for mini road trips, and when I shower at the gym. I love the navy color of them and the fact that they are lined on the inside so if something spills it’s super easy to clean up. This is similar since I can’t find the same one.

They also gave me a prepaid credit card so I could pick something out myself. I was looking at purchasing the Better Sweater Patagonia and maybe a couple other goodies during the REI Member Only Garage Sale. I got a couple new hats but have been dying to find an adorable pair of knit fleece lined mittens to match my new hats.

My sister got me this adorable bell shape sleeve navy pinstripe top from Express and I can’t wait to style it and wear it to work this week.

From my other cousin, Uncle and Aunt from Arizona I got a gift card to Starbucks which I can’t wait to use. Out of all the coffee places, I am mostly a Dunkin girl probably because I can’t justify spending $5+ dollars on a fancy iced coffee, but I love to treat myself when I have a gift card. I also got a Starbucks gift card from my Grandma in my stocking at her house. I can’t wait to purchase a Peppermint Mocha before they go out of season. I also got another Visa prepaid credit card which I have no idea what I want to spend it on. I think I want to invest it towards the blog by maybe purchasing my domain on it or renewing my Adobe subscription.

I am loving the winter hat with the fun pom-pom. It’s just so adorable and as soon as I opened my box I had to wear it and have been wearing it almost every day.

Rebekah also got me this adorable mug with a cute little sweater, I had been enjoying drinking peppermint mochas in it over break and hot coco in the evenings. I currently am drinking from it this morning while drinking my Christmas cookie.

She must have known that I love baking because I got the cutest cookie mix ever in this mason jar. I have been working every day during the first week of the break so I have been unable to make them but I can’t wait to dig into a double chocolate chip cookie real soon.

She also got me my favorite holiday candies, Reese’s peanut butter cups, they are just so festive in the foil wrapping and make for a great treat. Thanks so much for treating me this holiday season.
