Stocking Stuffers Under $15

I love stocking stuffer season, because I love shopping for those cute little things that someone might like, and Target always has the most adorable stocking stuffers especially in their dollar section. You can never go wrong with fun festive socks and chocolate or fun hot chocolate and coffee.

My favorite things about opening stocking as a kid was our family tradition was that you could open them as soon as we wake up on Christmas day, we didn’t have to wait for my parents or my other siblings. And I always remember getting a chocolate Santa but also something extremely practical like shampoo, or one time I got gum shaped like coal.

My stockings at my grandparents were always a little different and we always get a little gift card a pair of cozy fuzzy socks that everyone wears as soon as they open it and something fun and nothing to do with being practical.

As you all know I have been obsessed with Target this season, and to think I haven’t even been into a store yet this month. Then again who doesn’t love Target? Don’t worry the first thing on my to-do list when I get home is to hit up the nearest Target, and I can’t wait for this weekend.

Gift Guide for the Fitness Guru

It’s that time of year you guessed it gift guide season, oh and its finals week (like you needed to remind me, my to-do list grows by the minute). I wanted to kick off my gift guide season by doing one for that fitness guru in your life. I am super motivated by Abigail from Living the Gray Life’s 12 days of Fitmas circuit workout, were you progressively add on, and I can’t wait to start it today.

This is a great motivator to working out during the holidays even if it’s a few bodyweight exercises that you do at home, anything helps when it comes to being able to keep another holiday dessert. So as a result, I put together a few must have ideas that any fitness guru would love to have under their tree. I know I personally would love a pair of Airpods or the yoga mat.

What I Received For Christmas 2017

My Sprinkle of Prep headers

It’s been a crazy, family oriented long weekend. With spending Christmas with my grandparents and cousins on Saturday to spending time with my dad’s parents on Christmas on Monday, the entire weekend off from work was relaxing and chaotic, as I spent time with siblings, cousins, and grandparents.

On Saturday when we had Christmas with my cousins at my grandmas, I got an Amazon Gift Card from my two cousins and aunt and uncle in Chicago. I am super thankful because now I am pick something out that would be a great addition. Today will be a full day of online shopping and I already added this lens hood for my new lens and some new gear. Now that I live in the city of Pittsburgh it’s hard for me to not stay involved with the sports team, and for living in the city for three years now I have very minimal gear so I picked out this fleece lined hat which will be perfect during the playoff season.

From my grandma, she didn’t know what to get me so I was thankful enough for the gift of cash. My grandpa wanted to do something creative and they rolled up and wrapped $20’s and individually wrapped them. I had so much fun on Saturday opening all the little boxes to find a new surprise. The money didn’t stay in my wallet long. On Sunday we were walking around the mall with my cousins, after seeing the new movie Jumanji, and between my dad and cousins, they talked me into buying a Le’Veon Bell Steelers jersey.

My biggest gift this Christmas, and actually the two biggest gifts I received that I have been thinking about purchasing for a long time is a new upgrade for my Canon. I have been shooting on my T4i for over 4 years now, and it was the time I needed a new body to shoot better photos. My parents had bought me a new Canon 70D for Christmas, and I couldn’t be more thankful.

My parents also got me a new hair dryer since I wasn’t able to bring mine home from school, and I have been showering before work, so it was a perfect gift.

My grandparents were inside the loop on knowing I was getting a new camera for Christmas and chipping in on giving me a new lens for Christmas. I had my eye on a wide angle lens for a long time, and I was in total surprise when I saw a 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 under the tree on Christmas day. It takes some great shots, and I can’t wait to edit them and show you guys. I also got a set of travel cosmetic bags that will be perfect for mini road trips, and when I shower at the gym. I love the navy color of them and the fact that they are lined on the inside so if something spills it’s super easy to clean up. This is similar since I can’t find the same one.

They also gave me a prepaid credit card so I could pick something out myself. I was looking at purchasing the Better Sweater Patagonia and maybe a couple other goodies during the REI Member Only Garage Sale. I got a couple new hats but have been dying to find an adorable pair of knit fleece lined mittens to match my new hats.

My sister got me this adorable bell shape sleeve navy pinstripe top from Express and I can’t wait to style it and wear it to work this week.

From my other cousin, Uncle and Aunt from Arizona I got a gift card to Starbucks which I can’t wait to use. Out of all the coffee places, I am mostly a Dunkin girl probably because I can’t justify spending $5+ dollars on a fancy iced coffee, but I love to treat myself when I have a gift card. I also got a Starbucks gift card from my Grandma in my stocking at her house. I can’t wait to purchase a Peppermint Mocha before they go out of season. I also got another Visa prepaid credit card which I have no idea what I want to spend it on. I think I want to invest it towards the blog by maybe purchasing my domain on it or renewing my Adobe subscription.

What did you get for Christmas? I would love to hear what your favorite gift from the holidays have been so far.

Blogmas day 12 is here, and I am ready to deck the halls and skip all my finals. Well, of course, I can’t actually do that, today I wanted to share something a little more fun than the fact that I have four finals ahead of me this week.

I have all the essentials from candy, bath salts, J. Crew socks and what every girl needs is this mini emergency kit for their backpack or purse because you never know when you will need. DIY Hot Chocolate Ornaments

Happy Monday everybody, I am in the thick of studying for finals, and right now I am not sure if I should be thankful or not for not having a final today. I want to say thankfully that I have an extra day to study but also at the same time, I guess I will be stuck on campus for an extra day.

Today I wanted to share with you what I got my roommates for Christmas this year. I always try and do something a little crafty and fun and thought this would be the perfect gift and a great treat before everyone plunges into finals. Last year I made reindeer mason jars and this year I wanted to mix things up. With these adorable hot chocolate filled ornaments.

This project was super easy, and requires no skill level, yet does create a bigger mess than I anticipated including getting an entire container of hot chocolate all over the counter in my kitchen. I thought this was super simple and cute and everyone enjoyed them.

What You Will Need:

  • Glass Bulb Ornaments
  • Hot Chocolate
  • Sprinkles / Candies
  • Crushed Peppermint / Crushed Candy Cane
  • Gift Tags

It’s super simple and easy, I just scooped hot chocolate powder into the ornaments. As a trick I turned some paper into a funnel to help get all the powder inside, I used a tablespoon to scoop it in, but I didn’t really measure them, I just mostly eyeballed it. So that each bulb has a little more than one 8 oz. hot chocolate worth.

Next, I added a layer of sugar colored sprinkles in, either red or green. Then finally I added the crushed candy canes into the ornaments to top them off.

To finalize the project I attacked these adorable gift tags similar to last year with some packaging string. It was so much fun putting these together.

The way I put them together they would allow you to make at least 16 oz worth of hot chocolate, and you just dump the entire container into some hot water or hot milk and enjoy.
